Electric effect can be seen only when electrons are removed from one atom and transferred to another, even if process is on the same material. The electric effect is caused by the attraction and repulsion between opposite charged ions.
The number of electrons transferred in any charging process is enormous. Here are some examples. If a powder such as sugar or flour slides down along a tube and sticks to its wall, the charge on each tiny particle will vary from 10-14 to 10-13 C. i.e. from 100.000 to 1 million of electrons transferred to every particle particularly . Powder sliding down along the tube has often a specific charge, that it is about 10-7 C per 1 kg.
